LAUDERDALE CO., Ala. (WAFF) - Five people were arrested on prison-contraband charges in Lauderdale County, officials report. Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office officials say drug task force agents and deputies discovered that a group was attempting to smuggle contraband into the Lauderdale County Detention Center.

A man is suspected of drug trafficking after a traffic stop in Lauderdale County. According to the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office, 63-year-old Travis Leon Young was caught Tuesday with approximately 41.4 grams of methamphetamine, as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.
